MSPE represented at NSPE Northeast Regional Conference
MSPE Members including Kenneth Skinger, Christopher Barros, Thomas Converse and Benjamin Siebecker represented MSPE at the Annual Northeast Regional Conference of the National Society of Professional Engineers in Newport RI from October 18-22. Hosted by the Rhode Island Society of Professional Engineers, the event featured a dozen conference speakers from universities and industry-leading firms, who presented a wide variety of topics, including: Career Engineering; Offshore Energy Permitting for Wave, Wind and Tidal; How Fire Events Effect Fire Protection and Life Safety, Lean Business Concepts; MEP/FP Coordination: The Right Steps for a Successful Project; The Block Island Wind Farm – Development and Engineering Design; U.S. Department of Defense – Life Cycle Design Consideration; Dam Safety & Dam Safety Inspections; Cellular Confinement & Load Support and Porous Pavement Technology”; Applications of Spouted Beds for Heavy Metals Removed.
The event began with a welcome reception on Thursday evening. Friday’s agenda included registration, sponsor exhibits, and seminars throughout the day. The Friday-evening dinner presentation featured “Haunted New England” speakers Thomas D’Agostino and Arlene Nicholson, who took the audience to some of the most haunted places in the region – complete with pictures, electronic voice phenomenon (EVPs) and videos. The event concluded on Saturday morning with a brief Regional Business meeting.
