Marie has answered a few brief questions so we may know her better. Welcome to MSPE, Marie, and thank you for your support of the vital MATHCOUNTS program for Massachusetts students.
Q: Why did you join MSPE?
A: I joined MSPE primarily as a means to keep current on developments and advances within the local and regional engineering industries. I am still exploring all the valuable resources that MSPE offers its members and hope to take full advantage of professional development and volunteer opportunities.
Q: What are your goals as an engineer?
A: My goal as an engineer is to have a positive impact on our built and natural environment by implementing sustainable design practices.
Q: Please describe a project that you’re involved with.
A: I have several design jobs in progress for various renovations and fit-outs of lab buildings and hospitals throughout New England. I am currently involved in the construction document phase of a 140,000 ft2 addition for an athletic facility at a liberal arts college in Worcester. The project will include a new 4,000A service, increased emergency power capacity via a new 750kW generator, and partial upgrades to the campus 13.8kV infrastructure.
Q: How do you spend your free time?
A: I enjoy traveling and spending time with friends and family. I am also interested in visual arts and like learning new craft techniques.
